AUDITIONS:

Guts for Glory Theatre Company will be holding auditions for The Addams Family! Actors and dancers should fill out the audition sign-up sheet, the audition form, and provide a headshot and a resume. All parts are non-equity and unpaid.

Actors ages 6 and up are invited.

AUDITION FORMAT

Auditions will consist of two parts: a singing audition and a group cold-read of the script.

Actors will sign up for their singing audition using the Guts for Glory Audition Sign-Up Sheet which is linked to the right.

Actors will enter their names into their preferred time slot, with the understanding that by entering their name into a slot, they are committing to attend the auditions at that specified time.

The singing audition will consist of a scales exercise conducted by the Guts for Glory Music Director (in order to identify the actor’s vocal range) and the performance of a section of a specified song. You do not need to bring your own accompaniment as accompaniment will be provided for you.

After actors have completed their respective singing auditions, the actors will perform a group cold-read of the play script, conducted by the Guts for Glory Director. The Director will review each actor’s audition form to determine which scenes the groups will perform during the cold-read.

We ask that actors please arrive at least five minutes before their scheduled audition times so that our staff and board can collect audition forms for the Director to review.

AUDITION FORM

The Guts for Glory Audition Form requests an actor’s information (contact information, theatre experience, intended role, etc.) and outlines information about the current production (performance/rehearsal dates and times, rehearsal location, pay-to-play information, etc.)

We ask that each actor print and fill out a copy of the Audition Form to be submitted at auditions.

If you have any questions concerning the audition process or production, please contact us through our company email: gutsforglorytheatreco@gmail.com.

REHEARSALS:

All rehearsals will take place at Gahanna Christian Academy starting Thursday, May 21st  through Saturday, July 11th when we will begin rehearsing and performing at the Columbus Performing Arts Center. Dates will be confirmed at the first rehearsal.

The rehearsal schedule is Thursday-Friday from 6:30pm-9:30pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm for 8 weeks, not including tech week. Rehearsals will take place at Gahanna Christian Academy. Tech week rehearsals and performances will take place at the Columbus Performing Arts Center in the Van Fleet theatre. See the "Performances" section below for information on performance dates and times.

We cannot excuse an actor from rehearsals, unless he or she is ill. We cannot negotiate with other activities and still give the actor, his or her fellow actors, and the audience a quality experience. However, many of these roles may not require attendance at all rehearsals. Please be aware of all potential rehearsal conflicts at auditions because, at that time, you will be asked to record those conflicts on our drafted rehearsal schedule.

PAY TO PLAY:

There is a $40 pay-to-play cost. There is the option to also get a $20 t-shirt to promote the show. Finally, those who are cast will pay a $25 deposit on the libretto. If the book is returned in good condition, your $25 deposit will be returned to you.

PERFORMANCES:

Check back for performance dates in spring 2021!

TICKETS:

We will send out a pre-show ticket order form to each actor to sell tickets to friends and family. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 10 years and under. The money must be turned in with the order form.

Thank you for your help in getting the word around about auditions and casting. We'll do our best to create a great, educational theater experience for you and your family!
